The Outsiders Anticipation Guide Response

1. It’s easier to make friends with someone very much like yourself, than someone who is very different than you.

Agreed because sometimes it’s better to be friends with someone that understands you more, then you’re more likely to have things in common. It’s going to be easier for you to understand what their feeling or the other way around. Sometimes they will have similar feelings to you and you could get along easier than having someone who is completely the opposite of you and disagrees a lot and you can’t get along.

2. Socio-economic issues aside, teenagers everywhere face the same problems.

Agree because no matter where you are in the world some teenagers suffer from very similar problems. If it’s a poor teenager then they’ll have another poor teenager in a different country. If your rich then you’ll have a problem with being spoiled but not taken care of like parents being there by your side the whole time and supporting you, rather than just giving you stuff to make you “happy”. Sometimes they might have similar problems even if they’re from two different classes.

taste of salt ending

Unfortunately Djo doesn’t fully recover because he still has some problem with moving his feet therefore he has to use a wheelchair. When Djo notices that he isn’t fully recovered so he decides to tell her that they can’t be together because their relationship won’t work out if he’s unable to move smoothly and have a normal life. Thus he wouldn’t want her to be stuck in taking care of him and ignoring her education which is an important part of her future. Also her mother and the nuns at her school are encouraging her to go to Paris and study so she isn’t stuck in poverty for life. While Titid becomes president, he improves the life of Haitians because he knows what the people need and what their hopes are. As a result he helps a lot of poor people and that decreases the amount of poor people living in Haiti.

Oops I fell in love with a bride!

Made of honor is a romance/ comedy movie. It begins with Tom (Patrick Dempsey), is invited to a party. He looks for his friend Monica but when he enters her room, he finds her room-mate Hannah (Michelle Monaghan) sleeping. He thought it was Monica but it wasn’t, then they sat and talked. They became best friends. 10 years later Hannah has to leave for work in Scotland for 6 weeks. Tom feels lonely while she’s gone he tries to call her but he fails because of time difference and phone signal. While she’s in Scotland she meets a rich man and they get engaged. When Hannah comes back, she asks Tom to meet her at a restaurant. He goes to the restaurant and finds her fiancĂ© with her. She tells him how she met her fiancĂ© and that they will be getting married in Scotland and they’re staying there forever. Then she asks him to be her maid of honor and he accepts. Tom realizes that he has feelings towards Hannah. He tries to be a perfect maid of honor she Hannah could recognize that he’s a great person and he could then get her back and marry her instead.
I liked this movie because it has a variety of emotions and enjoyable moments. The movie is interesting because it shows that the actor’s personality changes and develops from a party guy to a guy that’s in love and can do anything to please Hannah. The actors played their parts pleasantly, for example some made u feel intense and they were basically pulling you into the movie to give you the feeling of being there and knowing what’s happening, while others were just a little dull. Overall the movie was good and so were the setting, lightening, music and plot. The names of the songs that were in the movie were “Love song” by Sara Bareilles, this song was matching to the movie since it was a romance song and so was the movie. There was also “walking on the sun” by smash mouth and some others.

Anticipation Guide Response

1. Politics and political problems are a subject for adults to deal with
I disagree because usually children listen to the news and know what’s happening around the world and in their countries. Also children can understand politics because for example in schools they usually have a student council to prepare activities for the students in the school. practically that’s just like the government making a council to decided on this for the government to do for the people in the country and so that’s kind of a link between children and politics.

2. All stories can have a happy ending if those involved work towards it.
I agree because we are the ones who control what goes on in our lives. So that means if we put a little more effort in our work and think positively we could actually have happy endings and nothing is impossible unless we think in a negative way. If we start thinking negatively then obviously we will end up with sad endings for silly mistakes we didn’t mean to do to make things worse for us and our lives. Although as we grow up our problems will get more complex and harder for us to solve so we could have a happy ending to our stories.

3. Literacy (being able to read) is a form of freedom.
I guess I agree with this point because well if people don’t know how to read then they don’t have freedom. They also won’t be able to live with us now days because everything in our lives depends on writing and reading and being educated. Also because as we know in civilizations before some didn’t support education because they didn’t want people to be free and learn things and know how to read and write to decided on their carriers and if they wanted to rebel against the government or stuff.

4. Civilizations without a written language cannot document history
I disagree because the people could draw it somewhere or built something to honor it. It could also be drawn on walls whether to decorate it or to record what was happening during that time. They could be told as stories or passed on from generations to other generations.

The Private Lives of Teachers

Summer was over and school had started the first lesson of the day was French. Our teacher was Ms. Loizido. She asked us how our summer vacations were and what did we do. When we asked her what she did in her vacations, she said that she didn’t do anything special and so students obviously have to believe their teachers. That day she said she was sick and she had lost her voice because of a cold. Of Corse us 4 didn’t believe her because who on Earth would get a cold in the summer I mean come on people its only summer.
Suddenly a teacher came into our classroom to give Ms. Loizido her coffee. She gave her the coffee and told her to not scream again. Then Sarah was feeling cheeky and wanted to know what did Ms. Loizido scream about to loose her voice. Mostly it wasn’t only Sarah who wanted to know what happened all of us did. Then the teacher asked Ms. Loizido if she had told us about her holiday and what she was screaming for. Obviously Ms. Loizido’s reply was a “no”. Then the teacher was laughing so hard and we were all so confused.
The teacher started telling us the story, “So this is how it all started” she said. “Ms. Loizido and I went to China to watch the Olympics, we got there and we decided to do some other unusual activities other than shopping and just watching the Olympics”. She also said that they wanted to add a little more fun to their vacations and let this be their fantastic vacation that will go down in history. “We were looking for all sorts of fun activities to do especially the wildest activities ever”, She continued. “Then we went to the hotels activities office down in the lobby and checked out what they had”. We were all so bored when she was telling us about what activities they would do and we were all expecting her to say that they would go on some boat ride, see some historical sight or even go on a banana boat which is rather weird. When she said the wildest we all were like “oh why do I have a feeling that this isn’t going to be the wildest activity on earth??” Because for some reason it’s hard to believe that teachers can do such interesting and weird activities.
Oh my god you would not believe what she just said. They actually went on for a helicopter jump in China. She went on, “we jumped from a helicopter although the distance wasn’t that far, it was so fun and we had the parachutes open as soon as we reached half way”. We were so amazed about what we were hearing. She also informed us that Ms. Loizido was screaming while going down really fast and that’s why she lost her voice. Also because she was falling down and the air noise was loud and she tried to scream but hardly anyone heard her. She also told us that they went on a parachute boat ride and they actually did go on a banana boat wow.
So that was Ms. Loizido’s vacations that she didn’t tell us about and said that she had nothing special because she didn’t want us to know teachers secrets. Also she didn’t want us to laugh at her for screaming while falling because she lost her voice that way and it was too embarrassing for a teacher to say something like that when she is an actual teacher, who has studied about gravity and all of that scientific stuff.

favorite band or song

My favorite song is “Miss Independent” it’s by Ne-Yo I chose to write about a song because I don’t have a favorite band since I don’t really like rock music or metal. I prefer hip hop, trance, techno and pop. The genre of this song is pop and R&B. I like the song because I like the rhythm of the song and I like his voice. Also the way he sings the song is cool because I can understand the lyrics of the song and he isn’t screaming out so loud. Ne-Yo is half African half American; he was born in Camden, Arkansas in America but was raised in Las Vegas. He was born on the 18th of October 1982. He acted in Stomp the Yard and Save the Last Dance with his really close friend Columbus Short. Until now he has recorded 3 albums and they are In My Own Words, Because of You and Year of the Gentlemen. NeYo also wrote songs for Mary J. Blige, B2K and Faith Evans. I chose this song because its really sweet and it talks about him liking his boss. Also because the song is really catchy in a way and it makes you feel that you want to move to its rhythm.

"Tell-Tale heart"

I think that the first one might explain the story better because the second video is a puppet speaking really fast and some people might hardly understand it. The first video explains the story mostly because it has more the one character who’s acting in it. It has scenes explaining the story and helping people understand what’s happening. Also it has sound effects to help create a certain feeling inside people towards the story. While the second one was just plain because it didn’t have any pictures or sound effects or characters to help the reader understand the story. I found the first one more interesting and it would help the reader understand. The second story was boring and really confusing and I wouldn’t have understood a word if I hadn’t watched the first video. The first video is detailed but the second I kind of recognized that it wasn’t as detailed, it was mostly straight to the point and some parts were missing.

Uniquely me

My name is Mariam and I’m 13 years old. I have 3 older brothers and there is a very big age difference between me and them, not such a unique thing though anyways. Sometimes I am really happy to have my brothers because I don’t really have to bother helping my mum or dad so they can’t irritate me whenever they want. I’m not such a hyperactive person or girl; I might be sometimes around my friends only. I have too many friends but my super best friends are Sara, Ashlee, Selena and Eleni. Practically all the girls in my class are my friends. My hobbies are playing volleyball, swimming except in P.E I don’t like to swim with directions I like swimming freely. I also like going downtown with my friends on the weekends or to the cinema. Often going to the cinema to watch a movie is too long and really boring. I would rather go somewhere where I can talk or hang out with my friends. I like singing but I sound really horrible most of the time. i like trance music and hip hop and all other types of music except rock and metal. My favorite colour is sky blue well i like all kinds of blue. I guess thats all about me for now bye.
