2. It’s never justified to hate another person.
Agree: There is no reason why anyone would or should hate another. It won’t do them any good and hate is a very strong feeling and is usually caused by holding on to grudges for too long. Most people forget what the problem was in the first place yet continue to hate which is really unreasonable. That also could lead to extreme reactions like hurting or killing the hated ones. This causes the problem to get bigger and worse. Most people wouldn’t hate a person they may just strongly dislike them but like to express it as hate. No matter how big an issue is there should not be such thing as “hate” it doesn’t even make sense. Whether it’s over a big issue or not. Hating does not solve anything in fact it makes matters worse over time.

For example if someone hates another for saying something bad about them then they do the same and telling other people that she hates her and she hates her back. This shows insecurity and the problem just grows and gets totally out of control. All because someone said something bad and the other couldn’t accept an apology they had to take “revenge” which is another major factor of hate. It’s like a little sequence of events building up. Also people get bored of hearing the same story over and over again, they finally give up on trying to help solve the issue and just pretend that they’re listening but actually they’re dreaming. The more hate is expressed the less people would like that person who is going on and on and on repeatedly about the issue. Others would think that the person has nothing better to do other than talk about their problem with that person and why they hate them. After a while it gets really annoying. Therefore personally I think hate shouldn’t even exist. It causes a lot of pointless issues and arguments over nothing. It won’t do you anything good if your bragging gets others bored of you and you end up losing friends attentions.

5. Our race is not what defines us.
Agree: Some people who come from countries with stereotypes regarding ethnicity and culture are not usually the way people describe them. At least for most. It usually depends on whether a person wants to be kind, well educated and open minded or just simply closed up and disrespectful. Always negative towards themselves and society and their actions would be harmful most of the time. It’s them who decide for themselves. Unless for some political issues then they would use their race as an excuse to defend their actions. We are all equal individuals who decide their destiny by themselves. No one is better than the other and everyone is special and talented in their own ways. Some are not so obvious some are because they have been bragged about and proven to the world.

It shouldn’t matter where people come from or what their social class is. Since development, technology, maths, sciences and all the other inventions that were made were from almost all over the world. There was no country or continent dedicated to supplying the knowledge to everyone else. There was cultural diffusion between continents; everyone would learn something new wherever they would travel to. This was mostly influenced by trade. When people would trade goods they would learn something new. For example when silk and spices were discovered in Asia, the people who bought it off learned how to use it and when they gave their goods in exchange they taught the other people how to use them as well. This would be sharing of knowledge between different people. It didn’t matter where they were from or how rich they were. What matters the most was how people were communicating and learning new things from each other. Therefore race does not make a person, it may just influence some aspects of their lives like I mentioned culture but it doesn’t mean that they have to grow up with that culture and its traditions. They can come from the other side of the world but are born in Spain and they have adapted to Spanish traditions thus their race is no longer a factor of their life or it just doesn’t influence them as much.

In a petite town on the outskirts of Moscow, known as Uhov, lived a little 10 year old boy. Sashkin had only moved to the new town two years ago after his mother passed away. He was still struggling get used to his new home, especially since people didn’t treat him nicely. He had missed his friends a lot. Sashkin had a psychological problem after his mother and moving into the town she was born in didn’t help him either. Sashkin’s case began to worsen day by day and even though his father knew what was wrong, he decided to take his son to a normal doctor instead of a psychologist. Just because it was embarrassing for the family and he didn’t want people to think his son was going crazy. Sashkin was raised very well and was full of gratitude. He never disobeyed his father or answered back. Therefore his father decided to throw a surprise party for his only son for his 12^th birthday. He invited all of Sashkin’s friends from school and their parents. One of the boys in his class was called Sasha. That was the full name for Sashkin. But Sasha was far from being kind or loved. He had an attitude and was very rude and impolite. He always disrespected people and answered back to his teachers and parents. He had a gaudy character that made everyone cautious. But where ever he went he always wanted to leave a littler reminder of him. This time there was a beautiful crystal vase-like candelabra decorated with pure gold and diamond custom made. This was a gift for Shashkin’s mother for her wedding. She loved it with all her heart and sine it was from her father in law. Sashkin loved this candelabra because it was a small reminder of his mother. He took great care of it and would always dust it or wash it carefully every weekend just like old times when his mother would always say: “Be careful with the diamonds, be gentile because it’s fragile”. The moment Sasha spotted it, he put on a suspicious smirk and made his way towards it. Sashkin realized so he called his father to offer some parents a drink. Then when his father arrived with the tray, he asked Sashkin to remove the candelabra and place it in the glass cupboard. That immediately threw Sasha off guard and ruined his plan. Ironically he walked into a table and tripped and bashed his face against the wood. Everyone was laughing but Sashkin’s father rushed to get the first aid while Sasha’s parents were helping him get up and giving him tissue to wipe off the blood. Sasha learned his lesson, what goes around comes back around. Karma will get you back sometime when you least expect it.

After a long, tiring school trip for a volleyball tournament, the team was finally heading back home. While waiting in the airport at Bratislava, reporters say there was a bag left at a corner without any owner’s tag or any other information. While the team’s coach and English teacher was on her way heading to the bathroom (innocently and minding her own business), she passed by the “suspicious” bag. Suddenly the bag moved slightly and caught the coach’s attention. She thought she was hallucinating for a moment but then she went to examine the bag before reporting it to airport security. As she was getting closer and closer something magical occurred, so rapid that it only took less than seconds to arise. The coach was HYPNOTIZED. Walking awkwardly and faintly she decided to go back and join her fellow students and colleague. The students noticed something different when they saw her eyes rolling towards the Nintendo D.S and cherishing it preciously. She gently asked for it so they don’t realize that there was anything wrong. While she was playing fiercely, the students were reading apart from two who were surfing the internet and weren’t affected by the spell. Thankfully this spell only lasted for half an hour if it hadn’t been for the 2 girls who weren’t hypnotized into reading or playing the D.S. Reporters also stated that the girls had informed the security about the “magical hypnotizing” bag and asked them to handle it gently while they travelled back safely.

My Easter Break

Last day of school I went downtown with Eleni and it started raining really hard. We rushed back to school to get our bags and wait for Jess to finish her after school activity. When we got to school we were totally soaked, as if we’ve been dumped in a pool and taken out. Later then we went to the cinema and watched a superlative movie. Saturday was the Catholic Easter and I don’t really remember what I did. On Monday I went to the mall with some friends. Tuesday I went shopping with my mum and aunt it was alright not so fun though. I spent the rest of the week at home watching TV, sleeping and sometimes going over to my aunt’s house. On the Orthodox Good Friday I went church for a bit then went to visit other churches as well. 

Saturday afternoon I was getting ready to go to church at nigh. I went with my oldest brother. When we got back him my 2^nd eldest brother had arrived with some friends. It was the 1^st Easter we’ve had as a complete family since my brother left for university. We spent the night talking, drinking and then we had an Easter feast at midnight. Sunday we had a barbeque with the guests that had come to visit.

The last week of my vacations I mostly spent my time reading books and watching movies. I also went to my aunt’s house again, went out with some friends, watched TV and continued sleeping. On Thursday night I had 2 incoherent nightmares that made me have profound thoughts and got me really worried. Although thinking at night before I go to bed is kind of a habit.  

Tornado Chasers (Twister film critique)

Twister (1996) is an adventure, action, romance and thriller movie about tornadoes and their effects. Directed by Jan De Bont and written by Michael Crichton and Anne-Marie Martin. Starring Helen Hunt (as Dr. Jo Harding) and Bill Paxton (Bill Harding) who are scientists that were married and they’re now trying to get divorced. But things didn’t turn out the way Bill Harding wanted them to do so. When they are trying to sign the papers of the divorce, the weather changed and finally the largest storm they had been preparing for was about to occur. This storm is very important because it had hit a city before and it has come back to hit Oklahoma. This storm is a very important event for both Jo and Bill because meteorologist Harding had been preparing a machine that would be able to help advance the warning system from 3 seconds to at least 15 minutes. In order for people to be able to evacuate and be more cautioned. Thus both Dr. Jo and Bill had to “plant” this machine inside the tornado. But both Jo and Bill face many problems and competition between another group of scientists that had basically copied Bill’s idea.

The movie would have been interesting to me if I hadn’t been living in the “technology” world, since the movie was based on improving the tornado warning system. Now we live in a world that is more developed and new ideas, experiments and scientific related stuff is like an aspect of daily life. As a scientist I should be very proud of this and in fact I am because this shows how much science has developed over the past years and the improvements we made affected the world today. Also I didn’t quiet like the movie much because as usual movies have very unrealistic parts and effects to make people believe in them and have an influence on them in a way. An example is when the tornado hit the area they were taking a break in, and they went “underground” no one was hurt or injured by the falling pieces of metal or poles collapsing. Another scene was when they stood under the wooden bridge and the top wood part totally came off when the tornado hit. This is totally unrealistic because tornadoes are the “nature’s most violent storms”. Sometimes tornadoes hit very fast without giving any warnings as we all may know, especially people who live in areas with a lot of tornadoes occurring at once, therefore it could be impossible to know when a tornado could really take place and warn people 15 minutes earlier because they develop super fast. They could also be transparent until they pick up any dust or debris. Tornadoes form when the warm air rises from the ground and meets the cooler yet drier air and then the moisture in the warm air condenses and forms a huge thundercloud. Therefore this causes the tornado to form in a funnel shape. The F5 tornado they referred to in the movie basically causes massive damages. The winds blow at 261 mph and are able to life houses from their solid foundation and throw them miles away. Although the F5 is a very dangerous storm, it’s rare in a way. There are only 1 percent of these types of tornadoes that cause this damage, which can be classified as the F5. Others could be F1 also known as the “moderate damage category” they may cause less damage but are still dangerous.

On the other hand the movie has managed to keep the suspense and the great influence on the viewers until the end. This shows that it’s partially scientifically true and has some supporting ideas and facts about tornadoes. It also had this great effect that made things seem real in a certain way, for example when they were under the tornado the effect of them being sucked into the tornado seemed really although as well all saw, the tornado didn’t manage to suck them in. In the picture to the write is a photo of the area's in the U.S that are mostly affected by Tornadoes.
